I never had a dog, so when I adopted Sophie from a lab rescue group I wanted to make sure we got off on the right foot. I asked around, friends, neighbors and my vet. I got a few recommendations and called each of them. My Canine Coach was the only one that returned my call promptly so I met with them first. Coach Sheryl came to my home and spent time with me and my family. She asked us all kinds of questions about our lifestyle and schedule and what we like to do. She observed Sophie and gave her a temperament test. Then Sheryl gave us some advice and made some recommendations that we could start working on right away. She gave us a few options as far as training plans. We ended up signing up for a 5 lesson plan. I did meet with a few other trainers because I was so new to this, but my husband and I decided to go with My Canine Coach. We liked her training philosophy and the rates were very fair.

I took the time to write all this because we couldn't be happier. Sophie is a well behaved, well mannered member of our family and she is a joy to have around. We couldn't have done it without the guidance and training we received. I would and have recommended My Canine Coach for anyone looking for a professional dog trainer on Long Island.
